Trade-In Program Policy

Last updated: September 26, 2026

This policy governs our jewelry and luxury watch trade-in program. By submitting an item for trade-in you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not submit an item or ship anything to us.

1. Submissions are non-binding inquiries

All initial submissions — including any asking price you provide for a watch — are non-binding inquiries. They do not constitute a contract of sale and create no obligation for either party. A binding agreement only forms when we send you a written offer and you accept it through the secure link in the email we send you.

2. Jewelry vs. luxury watches

Jewelry (gold, silver, diamonds, gemstones): We email you a prepaid inbound FedEx label as soon as you submit. Once your item arrives, our in-house jeweler inspects, weighs, and assays it. We then send a written offer. Nothing is melted, altered, or resold during this evaluation window.

Luxury watches: We do not issue a shipping label on submission. Our watch specialist reviews your photos, asking price, condition, references, papers, and box, and replies with one of three outcomes within 1–2 business days:

  • An acceptance of your asking price, or
  • A counter-offer with our number and the reasoning, or
  • A polite refusal with no shipment requested.

Only after you accept an offer (or counter-offer) in writing do we issue a prepaid FedEx label and ask you to ship the watch for in-person authentication.

3. The offer / counter-offer process

  1. One round of negotiation. The program supports a single round of counter-offer plus your response (accept or decline). We do not enter extended back-and-forth haggling. This keeps pricing transparent and timelines predictable.
  2. How to respond. Each offer email contains a unique secure link. That link is the only valid way to accept or decline. We do not accept verbal, SMS, or social-media acceptances.
  3. Offer validity. Offers and counter-offers are valid for seven (7) calendar days from the time the email is sent. After that window the offer expires automatically and we are under no obligation to honor the previously quoted number.
  4. Full audit trail. Every step of the negotiation — your initial asking price, our counter, your acceptance or decline — is timestamped and stored in our system as a permanent log.

4. Watch authentication and post-receipt findings

Every accepted watch offer is conditional on in-person authentication and condition matching what was disclosed at submission. After the watch arrives, our watch specialist completes a full inspection — movement, dial, case, bracelet, papers, and reference verification.

If the watch is exactly as represented, we release the agreed amount as store credit, or your chosen payout (Zelle, PayPal, Venmo, or check) within 1–2 business days of receipt.

If the inspection reveals material differences from what was disclosed — for example: undisclosed wear, polishing, after-market parts, service-replaced parts, mis-stated reference, or any indication the watch is not authentic — we will notify you in writing and offer you one of two options:

  • A revised offer reflecting the actual condition, which you may accept or decline, or
  • A full return of the watch at our expense via insured FedEx.

We never dispose of, alter, polish, service, or resell a watch during the authentication window.

5. Shipping and insurance

  • All inbound and return shipments use insured FedEx (typically 2-Day with signature required and adult signature where supported).
  • Inbound declared value matches the agreed offer amount (for watches) or the estimated value (for jewelry).
  • You are responsible for following our packaging instructions. Items damaged in transit due to insufficient packaging may reduce or void the offer.
  • Title and risk of loss remain with you until the package is signed for at our facility, then return to you if we ship the item back.

6. Payouts and store credit

  • Credit may be applied to any current or future project balance with us.
  • Any portion of your credit that exceeds your purchase amount can be paid out to you via Zelle, PayPal, Venmo, or paper check.
  • Store credit does not expire and is non-transferable.
  • Payouts are issued within 3 business days of you selecting a payout method.

7. Ownership and legal representation

By submitting an item you represent and warrant that (a) you are the lawful owner with full authority to sell or trade it, (b) the item is free of liens, security interests, and claims by third parties, and (c) all information you provide (including condition, papers, service history, and reference numbers) is true and accurate to the best of your knowledge.

8. Privacy

We use submission data only to evaluate, communicate about, ship, authenticate, and complete your trade-in, and to satisfy applicable record-keeping requirements. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

9. Disputes

Any dispute arising from a trade-in is governed by our general Terms of Service, including the governing-law and dispute-resolution provisions in that document.

10. Contact

Questions about a specific submission? Reply to the email thread for that trade-in or reach us through the contact page.
